STEPHEN & YINKA
When Ghana meets Nigeria; An elegant London wedding sealing the fusion of two cultures

The best way to describe the day is beautiful; from the bride‘s bespoke D’Amore dress to the grooms speech to his new father-in-law. Simply beautiful.
So, imagine this… just one week before, the African traditional wedding took place & then, the big day arrives. It’s the day of Stephen & Yinka’s white wedding. The ceremony held in the grand City Gates Church, Ilford followed by the reception in quaint Old Tudor Hall Venue, Hitchin.
One thing that was undeniably clear was their attention to detail; in the vendors used for the bridal party gifts, the treats table at the reception. And in all honesty, this made an impact on me as the photographer. Not only was it a dream to photograph, but it was also, great to meet such amazing vendors.

Often brides will ask what they need to bring in order to get the same beautiful detail images as part of their gallery & it really is simple. Feel free to check out my previous post on All The Little Things for some pointers.
Why are the detail shots so important to me as a photographer? Not only so I enjoy putting the details together, but it’s also a unique part of your gallery. Even if another couple had the same wedding colours and went to the same shoe shop as you, they’re not going to have the same personalised socks as the groom or bouquet style as the bride. And these are the intimate details that I love to capture.
One of my favourite moments was on our way to Valentine Park for the bridal party portraits. The Groom requested for a very quick detour to the BoxUp gym in Ilford; amazing backstory, he founded it for kids to use in the fight against knife crime. Imagine walking through the street, congratulated on their newly founded union by strangers, it was quite the experience.
